DIET SUMMARY
Our Cardiac Support: Turkey + Rice diet provides high levels of protein and a moderate level of fat. It’s formulated for the long-term daily feeding of dogs experiencing cardiac disease in all life stages. Developed by world-renowned double-boarded veterinary cardiologist, Dr. Robert Prošek, and by our leading board-certified veterinary nutritionist, Dr. Justin Shmalberg. Taurine and carnitine are added to facilitate normal cardiac function. Sodium and electrolytes are carefully balanced to make the diet compatible with commonly-prescribed therapeutic drugs for heart failure. The diet naturally contains high levels of arginine, an important precursor to nitric oxide, as well as methionine and cysteine, precursors to taurine.
